Story Perspectives >>

According to Mikala: This was a very easy and short paddle on the river. There are a few backwater areas that are interesting to explore. Once you enter these backwaters, the surface is very flat. Along the shoreline, we noticed various plant life and turtles sunning themselves on the rocks.

As you get closer to Watt Avenue, the current gets much stronger and it is difficult to go any further. We ended up turning around, but first landed on a small island in the middle of the river. Here we set up lunch among the wildflowers.

We continued on, floating back to our put-in at Howe Avenue.
