According to Mikala: We decided to take a backcountry road in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument to see a different view. We wanted to try out the 4WD of our new Durango. I think this pretty much satisfied our thirst for off road adventure. The road really did not require much 4WD, but it was very washboardy. I was afraid the road would cause the truck to rattle apart - or at least my teeth!
The view, however, was expansive! We arrived at Devils Garden after about 12 miles. The rock formations in this area were very different from Bryce Canyon. It is very awe inspiring to realize what nature can do. I felt very small walking through these walls and towers of rocks.
According to Pilipo: We beat our new Durango to death on the way, but it was worth it! The rock formations were astounding and very beautiful. Next time, we'll use a rental :)

The rocks look like a giant's game pieces.
More terrific rock formations.
