According to Mikala : Acadia National Park is very beautiful. This was a very fun trip and a perfect place to view fall foilage. We started out driving from the airport in Boston, and as soon as I could, I began to look for brightly colored leaves in the trees. Because of the warm weather, the leaves had not fully changed yet. It was still very exciting to see an occassional tree that had changed to very bright pinks, oranges or reds. As we got closer to the park, there was more color, but Phil said it was nothing like the previous time he had been there.
The weather was perfect for exploring. During our visit, we hiked in the park, taking in the wonderful view of the water below. We rented bikes and explored the carraige roads - I especially loved the down hills! We found a pretty lake (or pond) that we stopped at to eat lunch. We went for drives to find more fall color. We took the Cat to Nova Scotia - I think it took a little less that 3 hours from Bar Harbor (over 600 miles). We ate delicious lobster, and had an evening massage. As I said, a great trip!
